Hello, everyone, it seems that luxury brands are now changing the fashion industry game.
The technology are evolving and many of us are trying to figure out what NFT is.
Balmain is already familiar with the NFTs. They are now collaborating with Barbie.
Barbie had done several luxury collaborations from the first fashion luxury with Oscar de la Renta in 1985. That became one of the most collectible dolls to Barbie dressing up as Karl Lagerfeld in 2014. So, what else did we get from Barbie?
According to Forbes article How Balmain And Barbie Are Defining The Future Of NFTs For Fashion, Tech, and Toys. It gives us an insight into this future that is basically next to us.
The collaboration is what you exactly expect but with a little bit of an upgrade in it.
It super joyful, unisex, of course the classic iconic pink Barbie colors, adding three NFTs that give us three uniques Barbie and Ken avatar wearing exclusive ready-to-wear pieces of the new collaboration Balmain x Barbie. The winner of the highest bids gets to win the avatar and a physical Barbie outfit of the NFTs. So it’s a win-win for the person who gets the exclusive avatar and a real life Balmain x Barbie outfit.
So far the bidding on the NFTs Barbie is around in $2,319.33
Don’t worry if you are not into NFTs or simply you don’t understand how the NFTs works.
The good new is that there are actual physical clothes from the collaboration Balmain x Barbie that is reaady-to-wear. They are very limited so once it’s gone, it’s gone and many of us will be crying just like when I found out that Moschino was having a collaboration with Barbie in 2014 when I managed to snatch the mirror Barbie ios phone cover.
Adding personal opinion here on what is my most favorite item I would have to say that it’s the Pink calfskin B Buzz 23 Bag and The Pink Canvas Monogram print Petra Ranger Ankle Boot.
As I mentioned in my previous post of Spirited Away x Loewes Capsule Collection “my heart says yes but my bank account says no.”
And yes, I’m keeping myself hopeful that someday I will afford them but in the meantime I will dream of having one of their items.

This is really cool! Barbie is iconic for surviving the passing decades. They pay attention to people and changes in trends. I only wish there were more barbies with brown hair like mine. I know a few exist, but for a better variety I have to go all the way to Toys-R-Us. I’ve actually dreamed a couple of times that I bought a barbie and a white dress for her. I guess part of me is still a child at heart!

Completely understandable! I’m a plus-size/curvy gal even tho Barbie now has different skin tones and body sizes which for me I’m happy for it.
I do wish they have a bit more variety but also you can try and do some DIY with Barbies like hair dye, doing some curls, and so on…
I’m also a kid at heart!
Forever young xx
