Hello, everyone! Remember that tweet I posted about losing my Chanel lipstick? Well, I finally found it—inside my car! I have no idea how it fell out of my purse. I was convinced I lost it during an art opening.
A little side note: this lipstick was a gift from my mom for my 29th birthday (not a PR gift—yet! Please, can I be on a PR list?).
While I had never really considered Chanel makeup before, this lipstick turned out to be a delightful surprise. Chanel is such a prestigious name in both fashion and beauty, after all.
When I reviewed the lipstick, I noticed a unique feature: instead of just taking off the cap, you have to push the bottom to release it. This design adds a touch of luxury and feels substantial in your hand. Plus, there’s plenty of product to enjoy.
Another thought: luxury makeup brands like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Dior are meant to be used, not stored away until they expire.
The shade I received is a beautiful red—not the super bright spicy red like Carolina Herrera, but a neutral tone that strikes just the right balance. It’s soft and satin-like, making me feel fabulous. However, it does require a good lip liner to help it stay put, especially during meals.
If you’re not someone who likes to reapply lipstick often, this might not be the right choice for you. But if you enjoy the luxury of reapplying in public, then this lipstick is a winner.
As a red lipstick lover, I appreciate the glamor and je ne sais quoi of French makeup. The Chanel lipstick gives my lips a plumper appearance, making a powerful statement. I currently have the Rouge Allure L’Extrait, which I believe offers one of the best red pigments—one swipe and you’re good to go! It’s creamy and hydrating, and if you want a pouty look, just blend with your finger for a vampy finish.
One last cool feature: Chanel lipsticks are refillable, which is great considering they can cost around $50!
