Your skin is a reflection of how well you care for it. Just like you care for the rest of your body, your skin needs attention to achieve a healthy, radiant look. By preparing your skin for summer and having a set of reliable go-to products, you’re taking an active role in your skincare routine and ensuring that you feel good in your skin.
But what exactly should you be looking for when it comes to beauty must-haves and the products you need?
Before diving into the world of skincare products, consider seeking professional advice. A dermatologist can help you understand your unique skin care needs and guide you towards the right products. This personalized approach ensures that you’re not just following trends but taking care of your skin in the best possible way.
Next, why not consider the benefits of booking an appointment with an aesthetician? They offer a range of skincare treatments, each with its own unique advantages. For example, Acne Scar Subcision Treatment can tackle the root cause of acne, leading to a smoother, healthier appearance and improved collagen production for healthier skin.
Moving forward, what do you need to keep your skin looking and feeling good this summer?
Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide, a key ingredient in mineral-based sunscreen products, is your summer skincare hero. While it forms a protective barrier on your skin, blocking UVA and UVB rays to prevent signs of sun damage and premature aging, applying mineral-based products on your face, arms, décolletage, neck, and hands is crucial. These areas are most exposed and require extra protection against the sun’s harmful effects.
Vitamin C
Using products containing vitamin C consistently throughout the year is crucial. Vitamin C aids in reducing discoloration and stimulating collagen production, particularly beneficial during the summer months.
Vitamin E
Many studies have proven that vitamin E helps mitigate ongoing DNA damage formation even after sun exposure has ended. Using vitamin C in conjunction with vitamin E products can boost vitamin E levels for added protection.
AHAs
To enhance exfoliation and remove dead skin cells gently, AHAs, or alpha-hydroxy acids, offer mild exfoliant properties. They effectively eliminate oil and buildup from pores, resulting in cleaner-looking skin. However, it’s essential to note that AHAs can increase skin sensitivity to the sun. Thus, it’s crucial to use a high-quality sunscreen alongside AHAs to shield your skin from potential sun damage.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a proven humectant, which means it’s perfect for adding extreme moisture to your skin. Finding skincare products with this ingredient can help you provide moisture to your skin and ward off dry skin from sun exposure, prolonged exposure to air conditioning, or chlorine from swimming. It’s lighter than body butter, which won’t clog your pores.
Caring for your skin in the summer means you’re adding ingredients that can protect it and nourish it so you can look your best no matter what the sun throws at you.

I’m still trying to learn about skincare and all of the different ingredients, so this is so helpful! I know I’ve always gravitated towards Vitamin E, as I know its good for dry skin. Hyaluronic Acid is another favourite too, my skin needs that extreme moisture haha! xx
